Position Description
Accounting and Pricing Operations, which comprises Fund Accounting, Institutional Accounting and Pricing, provides accounting and pricing services to all of the Fidelity Retail and Institutional products. These services include the maintenance of the books and records for these products, pricing of the underlying securities and calculation of the net asset values, yields and distribution rates.
Reporting to the Pricing Manager, the Senior Pricing Analyst ensures the quality of security prices through analysis and judgment in order to produce and release accurate, timely NAV's to Fidelity's shareholders.
Position Responsibilities
* Synthesizes information from various sources, such as Fund Accounting, portfolio management, custody operations, trading, brokers and pricing services, in order to verify and report to internal and external clients
* Researches, analyzes and resolves issues or exceptions according to established policies and procedures
* Supports and modifies pricing systems and applications including Global Pricing Workstation (GPWS), Invest One and FIRS
* Prepares and reviews pricing, reference file, and reporting for all securities and funds under management
* Maintains a strong partnership with internal and external customers
* Prepare and/or review pricing for Equity, Fixed Income and Derivative security types.
* Prepare and/or review various reports, including new buy, stale price and fair value.
* Prepare and/or review reference file additions and/or updates in GPWS and Invest One.
* Analyze research and resolve price and NAV discrepancies.
* Create monthly reports and review with Senior Management and Treasurer's Office.
* Escalate problems which could have potential impact on daily operations and could adversely affect customer and vendor relations.
* Provide daily support of business relationships with customer and suppliers on a security-specific basis.
* Administer and coordinate workflow for pricing within the group.
* Access work processes on a formal and informal basis, suggest ideas for improvement and assist management in implementation.
* Assist in the development of and contribute to the successful completion of group goals.
* Train new employees on formal and informal basis.
* Act as a technical resource for the department.
* Assist with project work and lead inter-group projects.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in business-related field required (Accounting or Finance preferred)
* One to three years of experience in pricing or mutual fund accounting
* Strong knowledge of securities, financial markets and the mutual fund industry
* Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to understand potentially complex pricing, accounting, system, or database management related issues and work to resolve or elevate issues as necessary
Skills and Knowledge
* Ability to multi-task and interact in a professional manner with several internal and external clients in an efficient and timely manner.
* Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment and adhere to strict internal and external service level agreements
* Ability to work in team environment
* Strong working knowledge of Bloomberg as it pertains to pricing and reference file maintenance
* Fixed Income accounting or Security Reference File maintenance/Database Management experience preferred
* Understanding of all asset types preferred
* Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives
