Position Description

Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services (FIWS) is a leading provider of trading, custody and brokerage services to Registered Investment Advisors, Trust Institutions and Third Party Administrators. FIWS custodies over $320 billion in assets on behalf of more than 3,500 clients, as of June 30, 2009. The Practice Management Consultant assesses, documents, and makes recommendations regarding an Advisor's overall operational workflow and efficiency. The scope of a client engagement includes processing and report generation, trade-to-settlement workflow, document management, and pre-trade and post trade compliance. The Consultant will also review CRM, Financial Planning, and Portfolio Management tools and recommend best-practices. As appropriate, Fidelity and non-Fidelity/third-party technology and tools will be included in the recommendations. The Consultant should be well versed on operational and workflow best practices, and the regulatory environment. This will enable the consultant to analyze the client's current state, and provide holistic, integrated process improvement and technology recommendations.

Primary Responsibilities

* Assist IWS clients in assessing technology needs, recommending best practice solutions, and operational process improvements in written documentation.

* Partner with Relationship Managers and IWS technology partners in assessing and serving client needs.

* Determine areas of operational risk and/or inefficiency. Identify key barriers for adopting recommended solutions.

* Research and investigate applicable third-party alternatives. Work with client to define requirements and provide appropriate alternatives.

* Gather client feedback and enhancement suggestions.

* Proactively work with the product management team to address client feedback and implement enhancements to existing technology.

* Serve as subject matter expert on IWS technology solutions

Qualifications

Education and Experience


* 7+ years experience in the Financial Services Industry is required

* 3 or more years overall experience in the following areas preferred: Portfolio Management Systems, Trade Order Management Systems, Trust Accounting Systems

* Prior consulting experience preferred

* Back office workflow and operations experience

* Series 7, 63 required

Skills & Knowledge

* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to express complex business concepts and technical terms to a broad audience

* Exceptional presentation skills, solid analytical, strategic thinking, and creative problem solving skills are required. These include, but are not limited to: ability to analyze and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

* Ability to comprehend front and back office processes and procedures

* Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills

* Multitasking and good time management skills required

* Strong drive and initiative

* Exceptional collaborative skills
