Description
The Vice President of Portfolio Analysis and Investment Communications for the Asset Allocation Division (AAD) is responsible for the content creation, design, and production of AAD's Investment materials. The VP will build and manage the Communication's program for this growing business, partnering with our investment team and distribution partners to build our brand and to ensure that our investment story is timely and relevant.
Critical elements of this role include supporting the investment teams with analysis and written commentary about our investment activity and performance, as well as the production and management of recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports and commentary, ongoing investment and market commentary, thought leadership pieces, including white papers, and ad-hoc presentation and editorial requests. The materials produced are utilized for a variety of internal and external audiences, including Investment Committee Fund and Portfolio reviews, Board meetings, leadership briefings, AAD and Asset Management All-Hands meetings, channel marketing and client communications, rep communications, AAD marketing materials and industry conferences.
Primary Responsibilities include
* Providing leadership, management, and vision to the Investment and Portfolio Analysis and Investment Communication teams:
* The Investment Communication team creates, updates, facilitates the review of, and maintains our division's communication materials, such as: white papers, presentations, marketing materials, training content, RFP responses, and intranet content, working with a variety of communication mediums, including print (MS Office suite and In Design), audio, video, and web.
* The Portfolio and Investment Analysis Group is responsible for preparing recurring portfolio reviews and investment reallocation rationales based on independent analysis, direct interaction with portfolio management, and an overall familiarity with market and economic conditions. The analysts on this team are also responsible for working with the CIOs and Senior Investment personnel to deliver investment related content and presentation materials to support client and rep interactions and internal investment reviews.
* Partnering with Investment Leads and Business Line Managers to ensure investment communications are of the highest professional standard
* Managing AAD's Editorial board to ensure transparency and accountability for overall messaging across the division
* Participating in the Asset Management Editorial board to ensure awareness and input into the overall messaging across Fidelity's investment divisions
* Building and communicating the calendar of communication activities.
* Building a high performing team by identifying and developing required skill sets, understanding needs of business partners, managing performance, and building relationships with portfolio and investment analysis staff, investment directors, investment team, and investment support associates to support the future growth of our business.
* Supporting Senior Management, CIOs, and Portfolio Managers with PowerPoint presentations, internal communications, and other investment communication needs.
* Advising Senior team on high-profile communication activities
* Management of the communications budget
Qualifications
Education and Experience
* BA/BS plus 15+ Years in a Communications environment, experience in asset management a significant plus
* MBA/CFA preferred
Skills and Knowledge
* Proven ability to manage a team, define strategic direction, set priorities, and inspire motivation
* Proven ability to interact with Senior Management
* Superior analytical and business judgment and verbal and written communication skills
* Strong understanding of investment concepts, global markets and financial services industry; knowledge of asset allocation and managed accounts business a plus
* Strong influence skills, intellectual curiosity and commitment to continuous improvement
* Experience with media/public relations a plus
* Thrives in an environment with competing deadlines and multiple work streams.
