The Expertise We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

CPA and/or advanced degree preferred

5-7 years’ relevant experience

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices and internal controls

The Purpose of Your Role

Under the direction of the Accounting Director, your primary responsibility will be to support the accounting and reporting for multiple Corporate Services business units and legal entities. You will have core responsibilities related to the monthly and quarterly close process. You will work closely with other Accounting teams, as well as Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Compliance, to understand business transactions and come to proper accounting conclusions. You actively participate in systems projects & process improvement initiatives.

The Value You Deliver

Lead the monthly close process for multiple business units and legal entities, including detailed review of all staff prepared journal entries and account reconciliations.

Assist staff with variance analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis.

Manage and develop a team of two accountants.

Assume a lead role in reviewing and assisting the team in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial reporting process for distribution to internal Fidelity business partners.

Participate in many special projects and ad hoc requests

Implement control processes to ensure Fidelity compliance with accounting procedures & policies

Review of staff prepared process documentation

Perform technical accounting research

Respond to inquiries from management and other groups within Corporate Accounting, as well as other teams outside of Corporate Accounting, including Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, and auditors.

Perform ad hoc requests and deliverables as needed.

The Corporate Services Accounting Team is a dynamic team with a focus on continuous improvement and providing added value to our business partners and other Accounting teams. Corporate Services Accounting is comprised of over 30 Business Units and Legal Entities. Corporate Services expenses are intercompany billed to other regulated and audited legal entities. A high degree of accuracy and flexibility is required on this team.
