Position Description

Fidelity Investments Institutional Services (FIIS) Smithfield, RI has an opportunity for a Business Objects developer to join a dynamic team that delivers business intelligence solutions to our internal customers. As a Business Objects developer, you will design and update Universes, consult on report/dashboard development and provide production support for our internal user community.

Primary Responsibilities

*

Business Objects Universe and report design and development tasks. Address business intelligence initiatives from a data delivery/presentation perspective.

*

Assist customers with defining, documenting, designing and configuring solutions by creating detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to achieve solution.

*

Assist in the management of end user testing and acceptance as well as customer support in providing post-implementation support and maintenance.

*

Assist in the management of the Business Objects platform that includes: Web Intelligence, Voyager, Desktop Intelligence, Designer and Enterprise Performance Management.

*

Leverage industry best practices and methods. Write documentation to support the implementation of best practices.

*

Establish, maintain and ensure adherence to application standards for data reporting and extracting.

*

Ensure adherence to corporate data security requirements for the storage, transportation and retention of data.

Qualifications

Education and Experience


* BS in Computer Science or equivalent

* 2+ years experience using the Business Objects suite of products in either XI Release 2 or 3 with a focus on universe design and maintenance.

* Desktop Intelligence and Web Intelligence report development. Good understanding of InfoView.

* Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Ability to think beyond the basic requirements.

* Solid analytical and problem solving skills.

* Good understanding of relational databases and SQL.

* Demonstrated ability to be productive with minimal supervision.

Skills and Knowledge


* Business Objects Platform Administration a plus.

* Experience with Enterprise Performance Management or Crystal Xselsuis.

* Experience with data modeling or ETL tools a plus.

* PL/SQL, Oracle Analytic functions a plus.

* Experience with data mining or advanced analytics tools.

* Experience with Marketing Campaign Management applications a plus.
