Position Description

Successfully lead a group of highly-skilled professionals who are responsible for all aspects of equity compensation for Fortune 500 Corporations (and others); including Executive Services and risk management. This includes responsibility for oversight of all aspects of stock option plans, stock appreciation rights, restricted stock awards, restricted stock units, and stock purchase plans. The role also has responsibility for successful execution of complex block trades, and 10b5-1 trading plans, of company stock for the senior most executives. 50% of the value of equity compensation rests with the top executives of these client firms. Responsibilities include the accurate delivery of FAS reporting which directly impacts the client's earnings per share calculation and reporting - a major risk area for our clients. This group is responsible for driving and enhancing net operating income of $30M, on revenues of $250M from 210 clients. Many of the clients are shared across Workplace Investing(WI); 80% of the revenue and income are from Strategic Clients.

Spend significant time managing and developing Equity Compensation Managing Directors to maximize the revenue and income potential of the division. Set individual business goals for each team member, and work with cross PWI(Personal and Workplace Investing) groups - both DC and PI Distribution - to attain client specific revenue and income goals.

Primary Responsibilities

* Work with Fidelity senior leaders to establish strategic plans, measurements, reporting, and reward systems for the division. Includes coordinating activities with key business partners throughout PWI to ensure goals and objectives are met for the SPS(Stock Plan Services) business unit

* Coach and develop a team of 8-9 highly skilled and experienced Equity Comp Managing Directors to drive profitability for the division.

* Direct responsibility for solving highly complex client escalations and directly interfacing with the senior most contacts at our clients. This often includes members of the client's "C-Suit". Approving all financial transactions including direct expenses, waivers, invoice credits, contract renewals and pricing changes. Lead client rebid strategy and execution.

* Lead the service team (BULT) which includes the SPS CC, CSM, Imps, Financial Reporting Specialists (FAS), and Executives Services Relationship Officers. Also, work with extended BULT partners in other practices, including team leaders for other Workplace Investing(WI) practices by role (DC MD, CC, CSM, etc).

* Establish and manage service levels with internal business partners. Perform duties required of a Registered Principal.

* Manage risk to the organization by working with Equity Comp Managing Directors in enforcing Fidelity's compliance rules and adherance to Stock Plan Service's SAS 70 guidelines.

* Introduce clients to Fidelity's Retail offering through partnering with PI Distribution, especially the branch network.

* Make decisions on behalf of the division regarding policy, business process design, client escalation, and associate development. The individual is also responsible for negotiating agreements and service level agreements with business partners.

* The individual will work with Equity Comp Managing Directors to assist them in attaining client goals, including negotiating contracts and business agreements and driving household development for Personal and Workplace Investing (lifetime value).

* Position can be located in Los Angeles or San Francisco.

Qualifications

Education and Experience


* The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of financial services experience.

* Bachelor's degree is required and an MBA or equivalent is desired.

* Candidate must have Series 7, 63, and 24 or 9/10 NASD licenses.

* Candidates will have several years of institutional relationship management experience within financial services.

* Preferably, they will also have significant experience within the equity compensation practice.

Background in institutional client management required.

* Brokerage background will be very helpful.
