With over $340 billion in assets under management, Fidelity’s Global Asset Allocation division (GAA) is a leading provider of asset allocation solutions for retail and institutional clients. The range of investment solutions includes target date funds, target allocation funds, income and real return strategies, world allocation funds, managed volatility strategies, and custom institutional solutions.

GAA research groups provide investment research and analysis to portfolio managers and other investment professionals in support of our broad range of investment solutions. This research is critically important in helping portfolio managers to select the most suitable investment options and manage asset class and risk exposures across all investment solutions delivered by GAA.

The Purpose of Your Role

To be part of a rapid development team that’s embedded with GAA business users, providing high impact technical solutions to support quantitative asset allocation research and risk management capabilities for GAA portfolio managers, quantitative analysts, and senior management.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering

5-7 years of software development experience (at least 4 years in financial industry)

Making progress towards an advanced degree in computer science, computational/mathematical finance, CFA, and/or FRM are pluses

Knowledgeable with Cloud Services (AWS, Google, Azure) and Machine Learning is a big plus

The Skills You Bring

You have strong technical and programing skills:

1+ years with Linux

3+ years with SQL

3+ years with at least one OOP language: Java, C++, or C#

2+ years with an analytical language: R, Python, or Matlab

You have a good understanding of statistics and quantitative concepts: probability, statistics, optimization, risk management or portfolio theory

You can effectively work on a collaborative rapid-development team

You are self-motivated, driven, and have a strong sense of urgency

You have strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with business users

Rapidly develop high quality code and technical designs

Participate in technology architecture design and documentation

Learn and leverage new technologies

Develop data visualizations and front end prototypes

Support the validation and back testing of financial models
