Regional Technician dedicated to supporting a highly critical Data Center (Critical spaces) environment within Fidelity. We support a 24x7x365 on-call support, rack and stack, break-fix of all devices, installations of all products, material handling when needed and all movement of network, storage, and servers within the Data Centers.

The Team

Highly motivated team supporting different trading functions within Fidelity within the data Center space for all connectivity. This includes the use of test equipment for copper, fiber to specifications determined.

We support a 1st and 2nd shift with a 24x7x365 on-call personal supporting all break-fix, escorts needed for continues uptime. We also rack and stack all devices Network, servers and storage products with the use of lifts and some physical lifting (100lbs) to perform required duties.

Our group supports the trading functions for internal Fidelity organizations supporting our connectivity to the outside world such as NYSE, brokerage groups etc.

The Expertise You Have

1-3 years in either Data Center operations or equivalent.

Collage experience desired in technology but not required if you have equivalent experience in similar fields.

Data Center design or overall Data Center functions experience a plus

In process of obtaining a degree in Technology is also accepted

The Skills You Bring

Your deep knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols, WAN, LAN, SAN, voice technologies.

Your ability to use telecommunications test equipment, specifically Fluke network testers, Network analyzers, carrier circuit test gear capable of Ethernet/DWDM/SONET and cable media testers.

You have a basic background with enterprise data center facilities infrastructure including Power/Cooling/Fire suppression/Security-Access Control

Your knowledge in structured cabling concepts and practices are preferred for the role as many projects and initiatives will entail physical layer implementation.

Your superb communication and writing skills; Good interpersonal skills and ability to manage several priorities at a time in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment

The Value You Deliver

Data Center infrastructure support and problem resolution of complex hardware and software issues across several communication platforms.

Installation and Decommissioning of IT equipment – Includes creating project plans (network connectivity, port turn up, DNS), asset management, physical rack/stack of equipment, initial device configuration, physical layer connectivity….

Change and incident management coordination

Collaboration with critical EI partners and facility engineering ensuring timely delivery of IT equipment and infrastructure

Asset/Inventory management – Track and document all IT assets in CMDB tool throughout device lifecycle

Manage physical layer telecom connectivity and structured cable plant design.
