VP, Defined Contribution Specialist, 401K Small Market Sales

The Vice President, Defined Contribution Specialist role is responsible for selling investment and retirement services to prospective new 401(k) clients in two channels – wholesaling through Financial Advisor intermediaries and direct business-to-business (B2B). Working both independently and on a selling team, the DCS is responsible for developing and executing a territory-specific business plan that will maximize sales and market share for Fidelity Investments. Once engaged with an advisor and/or a prospect, the DCS will represent the organization and be the primary point-of-contact throughout the institutional sales cycle up to the point where the prospect is willing to move forward with Fidelity Investments.

The Defined Contribution Specialist (DCS) role is a Vice President level position that works within Workplace Investing.

The Expertise You Have

Bachelor's Degree.


5 - 8 years of financial services experience preferred.

FINRA Series 7 or 6 & 63 required.

Knowledge of the Financial Services Industry.

Demonstrated Territory, Project and Time Management skills.

Demonstrated Sales, Presentation and Negotiation skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently in a fast paced Sales environment.

The Value You Deliver

Manage and execute a highly sophisticated, multi decision maker institutional sales process in the defined contribution market primarily focused on plans within the Emerging Market.

Develop prospects from proactive phone calls and marketing efforts.

Partner with internal business partners to present Fidelity's investment and retirement plan solutions and capabilities.

Cultivate and strengthen business relationships with advisors, consultants and centers of influence (COI) in assigned territory.

Deliver and apply consistent sales process to effectively develop territory.

Develop and nurture relationships with Fidelity's Investor Center management teams in order to increase awareness and support of 401(k) Sales.
