The Manager of the International Middle Office Team leads the team overseeing all Middle Office functions for International Equity and Foreign Exchange trading at Fidelity Capital Markets.

The Team

The International Middle Office team handles support of retail and institutional trading for international equities and foreign exchange. This includes order support, trade processing, client service and exception management. You will be responsible for leading and developing this team, representing the team to Senior Management and acting as an escalation point for day-to-day issues.

The International Middle Office team supports two product trading desks as well as the International trading activities of Fidelity’s brokerage customers. The Manager provides direction and leadership to the 24-hour team, acts as an escalation point for the team and for business partners and helps set and deliver strategic direction for Fidelity’s International offering.

Beyond the day-to-day, you are expected to play a major role in the continued build and refinement of the International products offered to Fidelity’s brokerage clients.

The International Trade Support Team operates in a global environment and requires 24/6 coverage. In this role you may be asked to work non-traditional shifts and/or cover during US holidays

The Expertise You Have

You have five to seven years of (International) Brokerage or Capital Markets Operations experience

You have at least two years in a people management role

You hold the Series 7 and Series 24 licenses

Coordinating resource allocation and demand management

Overseeing interviewing, hiring, developing, motivating, training and evaluating staff

Leading by example and mentoring the staff on how to analyze a problem, obtain and evaluate information to support sound conclusions

Collaborating with a peer manager (nights) to cover a 24/6 production team

Deep understanding of the Regulatory environment and impacts to processes and decision-making

Communicating business unit and divisional objectives to staff; responding and resolving inquiries. Fostering an environment of open communication throughout the group

Fostering formal cross-training within group. Providing coaching and training as required. Ensuring staff involvement and representation in division-wide projects.

Managing business risk while challenging the teams to continuously improve the operating environment

Operating under set procedures but demonstrating flexibility and creativity in dealing with exceptions

Managing the international product agenda; engaging with business partners across FI/PI/WI to enhance existing product mix and related services
