The Expertise We’re Looking for

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Immigration, Human Resources or directly related field

7-10 years working experience within corporate immigration or law firm experience

3+ years of demonstrated experience in leading people, and a very strong interest in team and people development

The Purpose of Your Role

The Immigration Lead will be a member of the Global Mobility Leadership Team managing the immigration team and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to support managers, new hires, employees and HR on all immigration matters. You will foster a collaborative team environment and a strong service-oriented culture that ensures the delivery of compliant, effective and high quality services.

The Skills You Bring

You will have significant experience in vendor management and demonstrated success operating in the full spectrum of activity for a large US immigration program, including knowledge of US visa types, immigration processes and the ability to review case facts to determine the optimal filing type in consultation with legal counsel

You have excellent organizational skills and have demonstrated flexibility working in a dynamic and changing organization, including the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently with emphasis on attention to detail

You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationship with all stakeholders, including the ability to resolve delicate situations with diplomacy

You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate and influence immigration matters to leadership and stakeholders

You are capable of exercising independent judgment and discretion while utilizing company policies and practices to determine appropriate action, including the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive matters

You possess strong problem solving skills and have demonstrated accountability when executing your work, even in the face of ambiguity or limited precedent

You have strong computer skills, specifically in MS Office products (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)

The Value You Deliver

Providing leadership to the Immigration Program, defining program goals and priorities, tracking progress against goals, managing projects, and improving processes

Working with key partners to develop a more robust and future looking global immigration strategy that supports Fidelity’s business needs and talent strategy

Overseeing day-to-day administration and operations of a U.S. corporate immigration program, including management of 3+ Sr. Immigration Specialists and oversight to immigration vendor(s)

Providing consultations on the most complex and high level matters to develop strategies to mitigate risk and provide timely solutions

Facilitating on-going education for HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, foreign nationals, and managers on various immigration topics and current developments

Developing an effective communications strategy to convey timely immigration updates, including on-demand modules and other technology driven solutions that allow for self-service to managers both on process and new immigration laws/ information needs

Reviewing program policy, process, and practice on a regular basis to maintain immigration program’s competitiveness within the industry, ensuring the immigration program meets the needs of our partners and clients.

Overseeing the vendor relationships, including providing feedback to the vendor regarding service levels and overall partnership.

Partnering closely with Legal and Compliance to ensure that Fidelity’s U.S. immigration program continues meet compliance requirements as services and regulations evolve.

Maintaining current knowledge of immigration legislation/regulation and participate in re-engineering of program in response to new regulatory requirements.

Creating measures to monitor operational performance and obtain customer feedback on our immigration program to gain insights for continuous improvement of processes/communication

Developing regular reporting on activity across the company, quantitative and qualitative, summarizing level of activities, issues, concerns or trends that may be noteworthy

Conducting external benchmarking and networking with other immigration organizations

Participating in specialized projects with strategic focus on immigration policy, vendor management, stakeholder education and reporting on immigration matters

Collaborating with Global Mobility team on team initiatives and projects

Promoting worldwide consistency across global immigration philosophies, policies and practices, with sensitivity and flexibility to unique local country and/or Business Unit needs

How Your Work Impacts the Organization

The Immigration Lead will partner with the Global Mobility team and key stakeholders to create and drive Fidelity’s Immigration strategy and program offering. This role will develop appropriate communication/training materials to support our hiring managers and talent acquisition team, partner with internal counsel to manage immigration program, including external vendors, and manage immigration team provide consistent service to business units and ensure compliance with all country requirements. The Immigration team enables Fidelity to hire and retain highly skilled Foreign Nationals. The associates and managers we assist enable Fidelity’s successes throughout the globe.
